about the movie

Chris and Lisa move into a new neighborhood. They soon meet their new neighbor Abel, who seems to be a little more involved with the people in his street than the others. He’s an LAPD officer and when they get into an argument, things escalate into something much much bigger.

Most people would agree Samuel L. Jackson is a pretty good actor. As long as he isn't in a role that makes him swear every 10 seconds, the best ones I'd say are the evil ones. Like 'Black Snake Moan,' but without the soft side. This seems to be a perfect role for him. Accompanied by Patrick Wilson, who generally has a good eye for the right script and also had some great performances in the past.

I don't know if it's my irritating neighbor or the hyped up trailer, but it got me totally into this movie. As long as director Neil LaBute ('The Wicker Man') doesn't overdo it, this might be one of the better picks after the summer blockbuster rush.

  2. Liz:

I really loved SLJ’s performance in Black Snake Moan. Count me in!

  3. Judy:

Wow, that adds new meaning to the word “lousy neighbors”. I had neighbors who threw each other out the back windows (college students) and played music really loudly. I thought that was bad. After watching this movie, I feel better. My neighbors were okay.

My rate: Samuel L. Jackson is better when he’s evil
Looks like a very interesting movie - I love Samuel L.Jackson when he plays the role of a ‘Rudeboy’- that’s how we say it in the Caribbean.

By the way you’ve a great website - not much websites makes me want to leave a comment - yours did(so whatever you’re doing, keep it up)

"This was definitely a good movie. A little weird on some cases, but I think it's supposed to be like that! Jay
