I’m currently in the middle of launching film-industry.biz. A new site, where I’ll try to keep everyone updated on all the movie industry and business news. If you have a minute, feel free to drop by and have a look.
If you have a film website or blog, you can register it in the film-industry.biz directory.
The last days we have been counting the votes and ranked the best rated movies last month. In March our little film top 10 got quite pink in my opinion. So I guess the ladies like their Pink Popcorn Friday!
The top spot however, was taken by a casual movie, getting the most votes on our site ever. So without further ado, based on your votes, here are the best movies of March — if you are interested in the best rated movies in February you can follow this link.
We started this blog with the idea of doing a movie every day. But not just a random movie, we had to like it too. Like recommending a movie to your friends. But now we need your help. We need recommendations ourselves.
You might think doing a movie ‘worth the popcorn’ every day is not that hard. But when we got into the routine of doing a post every day, we soon found out one day we will run out of movies. Keeping up with the posts, we almost have to watch a movie a day. And if we don’t like it, there’s no post.
So this is why I ask you. Which movies are worth your popcorn? I’m asking you, because you have good taste. You are reading this after all. I’m eager to find out what you enjoy. Especially documentaries would be welcome, we’re running out of those pretty fast.
“Tudududumduuuuu, Tudududumduuuuu, Hello Motto!” Someone’s mobile is ringing. I chuckle, that guy must be so embarrassed right now. “Yeah… it’s James..” What? He’s picking up? The guy right behind us casually starts a conversation. When this happens I begin to question my own behavior. The first thing I would do, if I really had to pick up, is go out of the room. Maybe it is normal nowadays to pick up your phone during a movie?
Since a couple of years, Shannon and I go to the cinema about once every one or two weeks. This way we get to see some of the best cinema moments. People fighting over seats. Getting just one ticket out of the machine, before it’s sold out. Or sitting next to some guy that, as it turns out, hasn’t showered in, well, probably ever.
Is it even possible? A movie drought? In the games industry it’s quite common. Development cycles of 2 years are normal. So during the holidays there’s a flush of good games and in the new year there can be a drought for a couple of months.
"This movie was a lot like Napoleon Dynamite for me in that the first time I saw it, I was kinda left with scratching my head and wondering what I miss [....]"
