about the movie

Chris and Lisa move into a new neighborhood. They soon meet their new neighbor Abel, who seems to be a little more involved with the people in his street than the others. He’s an LAPD officer and when they get into an argument, things escalate into something much much bigger.

Most people would agree Samuel L. Jackson is a pretty good actor. As long as he isn't in a role that makes him swear every 10 seconds, the best ones I'd say are the evil ones. Like 'Black Snake Moan,' but without the soft side. This seems to be a perfect role for him. Accompanied by Patrick Wilson, who generally has a good eye for the right script and also had some great performances in the past.

I don't know if it's my irritating neighbor or the hyped up trailer, but it got me totally into this movie. As long as director Neil LaBute ('The Wicker Man') doesn't overdo it, this might be one of the better picks after the summer blockbuster rush.

For some of you the movie is probably known as “The Pleasure of Your Company” or even as “The Next Girl I See”. But when I saw it in the cinema it was called “Wedding Daze”… Honestly, I must say all of those different names are a bit confusing, but the movie is the same and that’s what it’s about right?

Of course I agree if you say it is hard to believe someone asks a stranger to marry him. And even harder to believe to see her saying yes and actually try to make things work. But when you put your first reactions aside and just go with the story, you will find yourself enjoying it! Some of the situations are really weird and even awkward, but that is what makes this movie so hilarious and enjoyable.

Besides the funny and crazy aspects of this movie, which are already making this movie worth the popcorn, there is a small message behind the story. Love comes when you expect it the least and it’s not always how you think it should be. But when love is around, just enjoy it!

If anybody will ask you which are the most respectful animals in the world, you will definitely answer the penguin after seeing this movie. What an unusual work of art this is. Brought as a tale of humans, for months the animals go through the roughest winter of them all. And all this for a baby that isn't even born yet.

Masterly edited, you feel like you have watched an incredibly romantic movie afterwards. The sweet soundtrack, the humble penguins, the funny notes, all make this an unforgettable documentary. It could have easily been the opposite. And while I know the angry birds in the movie don't growl like tigers, it makes for such a better story.

Made by the man who is currently setting up the Disneynature film label, this is an amazing spin between reality and fiction. You can see I'm still a little warm inside.

I'm sorry for not having a Cinema Saturday for another week, but having a good movie out of the cinema every week turned out to be pretty difficult. I tried 'The Tracey Fragments', which was a little too artsy without much substance. I saw 'The Children of Huang Shi,' which just wasn't written that well and therefore not that interesting. And for the rest, these are just slow weeks for the box office. I'm planning to see 'Street Kings' tomorrow, the word is it's pretty good? So maybe I'll come back on that one next Saturday. But for now, let’s get back to Narnia.

I noticed how the new Narnia isn't getting much attention, or maybe that's just me? But after watching the featurette above, I am quite eager for the next installment. The first Narnia was ok, it entertained, but not much more. With 'Prince Caspian' however, they seem to be going into the 'Lord of the Rings' direction. As if they weren't sure the first time, but their success confirmed their ideas and now they are going all the way.

In a couple of weeks we'll see how it compares to the Lord of the Rings and Harry Potters.

What made this movie totally worth the pink popcorn were the awkward and humoristic scenes. I loved the scene in which Alison tells Ben that she is pregnant. Also the scenes at Alison’s work with the sarcastic colleague Jill are seriously hilarious.

Although I liked the humoristic scenes the most in this movie, there still is a nice romantic touch to it. In order not to spoil it for those who haven’t seen the movie just yet, I won’t say too much about it. But I liked the fact that you don’t really expect it to happen, but as most Pink Popcorn movies it creates a happy ending.
